Recap:

Thoughts and prayers go out to Oilers RB Leon McBean who injured his arm/elbow in the game.
  •  The game was closer than the final score.
  •  Oilers led 9-7 at halftime.
  •  I forget who scored the 1st touchdown. But I think it was off of a short run. Or possibly a td catch from Will Price.
  •  The defense was much better than the final score indicated. They forced 3 turnovers in the 1st quarter of the game.
  •  On the Bucs opening drive they were moving the ball until CB Anthony Goss intercepted EFL Legend Anthony Comer in the endzone.
  •  The defense also forced a fumble on a punt and forced another fumble on a running play early in the game to keep the ball out of Comer’s hands.
  •  Coach Penn this week named Mark Reale the new starting qb for the Oilers. The Oilers had been struggling to score points recently, and he wanted to shake things up a bit.
  •  This is Mark Reale’s 1st season with the Oilers. He has a cannon for an arm and excellent poise in the pocket.
  •  Brockton has possibly the most talented front 7 on defense in the league. They are flat out nasty.
  •  The Oilers offensive line did an excellent job of minimizing the pressure form the ferocious Bucs passrush. The line was led by Oilers co-captain Pete Hogan, who toughed it out and played with a bad high-ankle sprain that occurred the previous week.
  • RBs Brook Payne and Leon McBean had strong games, my guess is they both averaged over 5-6 yds/carry.
  •  LB Colby Gallagher led the defense. He is having a monstrous season, he’s a tackling machine and one of the most intense players in the league.
  • The Oilers played with a depleted secondary due to injury and family issues, and Brockton's passing game got it clicking in the 2nd half.
  • The Oilers trailing 20-9 were driving with @ 8 min in the 4th thanks to a big run from Leon McBean. But unfortunately McBean came down awkwardly and dislocated his elbow. Nasty injury.
  • The Oilers must have been shaken by the injury to their teammate, because on the very next play, the Bucs jumped a route and picked off the Oiler pass and returned it 85 yards for a td.
  • The Oilers didn’t give up though, battling back making the score 27-17 with @ 5 minutes to go. TE Vinny Mofford has his first td catch as an Oiler, on a well timed 5 yard pass from Mark Reale. FB Mike Wright caught a 2-pt conversion to bring the game to within 10.
  • Unfortunately Brockton scored again quickly making it a 17 pt game and out of reach.
  • WR Will Price had a huge game for the Oilers. I don’t know his stats but he was Reale’s go-to receiver, with numerous big catches, and he had one 60+ yd kickoff return.
